What should come as a surprise to no one, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence made his first public recognition for his presumed destination, the Jacksonville Jaguars. Lawrence offered his thanks to fans for the wedding gifts given to himself and his wife Marissa.
Thank you @Jaguars fans. We really appreciate the wedding gifts and donations for charities of our choice! In addition to the donations, Marissa and I will also be donating $20K to charities in Jacksonville. Thanks again, we hope to be a part of your community soon

“Thank you @Jaguars fans,” Lawrence began on Twitter. “We really appreciate the wedding gifts and donations for charities of our choice! In addition to the donations, Marissa and I will also be donating $20K to charities in Jacksonville. Thanks again, we hope to be a part of your community soon.”
What started as a supposed “joke,” and a welcoming to Jacksonville by Jaguars Twitter, fans raised money to purchase the Lawrence duo a $300 Revolution toaster. That would quickly turn into a lot more money, ultimately raising a total of $11,203. The donation drive was started by Jaguars fan and Twitter user Eric Dillard, who goes by the moniker E_Dilla on the social media website.
After raising money for the initial toaster, Dillard quickly realized that the funds would greatly outdo his expectations, prompting him to suggest the remainder of the funds goes to charity. Now, it appears with the initial funds raised along with Lawrence’s pledge, the total raised thus far is now at $31,203.
With Trevor and Marissa’s donation - our “haha let’s buy him a toaster” fun has raised $31,203 for charity. That’s incredible.

Lawrence will officially be made a Jaguar when the team selects him with the No. 1 overall pick in this month’s draft. The team has been in search of a franchise quarterback throughout its history and it appears one will be on his way shortly, along with plenty of cash to go to a good cause.
