2021 NFL mock draft: Mel Kiper’s final predictions and OMG NO WAY

SEC Championship - Alabama v Florida Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images

The Jacksonville Jaguars have quite a few needs on both sides of the ball but Mel Kiper, Jr. said “YOLO!” and wants the team to pick absolute playmakers in the first round.

Here are Kiper’s thoughts on who the Jaguars pick with both of their two first round picks in his final mock draft of the year.

Spoiler alert: I need a Jag Rag.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

No drama here. New Jaguars coach Urban Meyer will start his tenure off by adding a franchise quarterback.

25. Jacksonville Jaguars (from LAR)

Kadarius Toney, WR, Florida

Toney gives Trevor Lawrence a playmaker out of the slot to make the quarterback’s life easier. The Jaguars also have the first pick of Round 2 and could go offense there, too.

As far as the first overall pick goes, Kiper isn’t going to do the “bold predictions that likely won’t come true” shtick for clicks... at least not this year. Trevor Lawrence is about as sure a bet as you’ll find. It’s a position of need, it’s the most important position in professional sports, and he’s the consensus top quarterback.

That said...

*LOUD SIRENS*

Would Toney be a great value pick at No. 25 overall with so many needs on the defensive side of the ball? Maybe. Maybe not. BUT IT’D GET ME HYPE. Let’s just roll the dice and have fun.

What do you think of this first round for the Jaguars? Anyone you’d like aside from who Kiper picked? Let us know in the comments below!
