The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected USC defensive tackle Jay Tufele in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. The team focused mostly on the offensive side of the football on the first three rounds of the draft, but with good defensive players sliding, Urban Meyer and Trent Baalke snap up a big body on the defensive line.

Tufele played mostly as a three-technique at USC, so it will be interesting to see where the 6-foot-2, 305 pound lineman will line up in the expected 3-4 front alignment the team is expected to play with Joe Cullen.

Tufele is a power player on the defensive line, so it is possible they could view him as a big end in the 3-4 alignment. Like Walker Little, he opted out of the 2020 college football season. He’s known just simply as a violent wrecking ball on the defensive line, who just over powers offensive lineman.
