Day Three rolls on for the Jaguars, as they select Luke Farrell with the 145th overall pick. Farrell is a former Ohio State tight end who is listed as 6’5 and 251 pounds. Farrell only caught more than ten passes once in his career, but scored four touchdowns as a member of the Buckeyes. Farrell also was recruited and played under Urban Meyer at OSU. Farrell is a big bodied player who can block extremely well, and is more than likely to continue that role in the Jaguars offense.

The Jaguars have very little talent or people in general at the tight end position. They added former Panthers TE Chris Mahnertz in the offseason, and still have former sixth round draft pick Tyler Davis on the roster. Farrell gives them an option to have as a blocking tight end on the roster with a little bit of upside for a TE room that sorely needs it.
