Jacksonville Jaguars Special Teams Coordinator Brian Schneider has decided to take time away from coaching for personal reasons, according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
#Jaguars special teams coordinator Brian Schneider has decided to take time away from coaching for personal reasons, I’m told. The team will fully support Schneider and his family during this time.

Schneider was hired this year as a part of sweeping changes made to the Jaguars coaching staff with new Jaguars Head Coach Urban Meyer. Schneider was the Seattle Seahawks Special Teams Coordinator from 2010 until last year, when he stepped away from the position indefinitely, also for personal reasons.
Schneider followed Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll from USC in 2010, and were among the league’s best in special teams with Schneider at the helm. Schneider worked in the NFL as the Las Vegas Raiders special teams coach from 2007-2008 and has extensive experience at the college level.
Rapoport reports that the Jacksonville Jaguars will fully support Schneider and his family during the time that he is away. The Jaguars have not officially released a statement.
