At today’s scrimmage, Jaguars standout WR DJ Chark was seen in shorts and a t shirt, while also wearing a soft shell cast on his hand. Chark was not a participant in the scrimmage, nor in the practice yesterday.
After the Sunday scrimmage, Jaguars Head Coach Urban Meyer told reporters that Chark had a “minor break” in his finger, and under went surgery on the finger.

Although Chark had surgery on the finger, Meyer says that the receiver should be ready by Week One against the Houston Texans.
This offseason, Chark was challenged by Urban Meyer to get bigger and stronger, and according to reports from training camp, Chark has done that. He’s added seven pounds of muscle and has been playing more physical. Chark has responded to Meyer’s challenge well, embracing the opportunity. “I love the challenge. I also told Coach that I’m like that,” Chark said. “When I go out there, I ball.”
The surgery on his finger will effectively take him out of any preseason action, but the Trevor Lawrence-Chark connection will be seen by fans in full force by Week One.
