NFL Week 1: Jaguars vs. Texans live blog

The Jacksonville Jaguars traveled to Texas to take on the Houston Texans on the road to kickoff Week 1 of the 2021 NFL season. It will be an interesting battle between quarterbacks Tyrod Taylor and first overall pick Trevor Lawrence.

Will the Jaguars be able to pull out the opening week victory?

3:36 PM: After going down 34-7, the Jaguars quickly respond with a 41-yard touchdown pass to D.J. Chark.

2:50 PM: The bottom fell out right before half-time as the Jaguars go in down 27-7.

2:29 PM: Jaguars backed up in their own endzone after a stop and Lawrence gets baited by the underneath corner in some zone coverage for his second interception.

2:19 PM: Jaguars rookie threw his first touchdown and just threw his first interception. Lawrence was flushed out of the pocket and did the classic rookie no-no; throwing across his body on the run, behind the receiver.

2:08 PM: The Jaguars still can’t seem to stop the Texans and punch formations, but they finally snapped the Texans 6-straight third down conversions, holding them to a field goal to go up 17-7.

2:00 PM: The Jaguars cut the Texans lead in half with a long touchdown pass from Lawrence to tight end Chris Manhertz.

1:42 PM: After the missed field goal, Tyrod Taylor and the Texans march right down the field for another touchdown to go up 14-0.

1:36 PM: The Jaguars hit a big play to start the drive, with a long pass from Lawrence to Marvin Jones Jr., but the drive fizzled out after a holding call, two drops and a missed Josh Lambo field goal.

1:27 PM: Texans are the first on the scoreboard with a rushing touchdown by Mark Ingram, after converting a handful of third downs in a row and a deep shop to Brandin Cooks.

11:50 AM: Jaguars will be in teal today
