Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Jacksonville Jaguars fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
Jaguars fans, are you confident the team is headed in the right direction?
And which Steelers player would you hypothetically choose to add to the Jaguars’ roster: 2021 Defensive Player of the Year T.J. Watt, three-time All-Pro safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Cameron Heyward, or ascending third-year receiver George Pickens?
Honestly, T.J. Watt should probably garner 100% of votes. He’s led the league in sacks two different times and is second in sacks behind Danielle Hunter this season. No other player has more sacks than Watt since he entered the league in 2017.
For the sake of an alternate argument, George Pickens might have a case depending on how much you value his contract compared to Watt’s. The latter has a cap hit close to $30 million from 2023-25, but Pickens will be paid just over $5 million total in that same time span.
Pickens is the exact body type/receiver mold that Jacksonville could use, assuming it wanted to add to that position group. Plug him into Calvin Ridley’s current role, let Ridley play more as a flanker, and profit.
