Good morning BCC! It's another college football Saturday and I've got the picks to help win you some money today. Last week I went 2-1 and I feel like I feel short. If it wasn't for Navy going for 2-point conversion down 17 when the game was over, I would be 3-0. Decades from now when these "innovative" coaches are old and retired I want one to admit that they play to betting lines. Let's take a look at my picks:
NC State +10
If you don't watch every second of college football let me catch you up. Clemson for past couple years has dominated everybody, those days are way behind them. The past 3 years including this one, Clemson has lost at least 3 games in the season. To put that into perspective, before 2021 Clemson did not lose 3 games since 2014. Dabo Swinney has doubled down on not using the transfer portal and NIL to pull in players and it's hurting his program badly. The team looks checked out and has nothing to play for. At best, they can play in some random bowl game against Iowa on a random Monday in December. Clemson plays against NC State in a stadium that gets loud and hard to play in. I can easily see NC State winning, but just in case Dabo gets one last momentum swing before his team checks out take the points.
BYU +20
Vegas is giving BYU way too many points, in these situations you love taking what they give you. BYU plays Texas and the Longhorns do not have their starting QB Quinn Ewers. Everybody just assumes backup QB Maalik Murphy will take Texas to an easy victory, it's not going to be easy at all. BYU plays tough, they lead the conference in causing turnovers on defense. Although they have struggles on offense, BYU will cover the spread easily.
Virginia +19
Virginia cost me early in the season, but they shocked the world with an upset last week beating North Carolina and ruining their playoff chances. Today, they play a Miami Hurricanes team that is still finding themselves. I think this is the perfect game to watch just absolute weirdness in football. Any time two teams suck and think they are better what they are, always tune in. Virginia should cover this easy.
See you tomorrow for my NFL picks!
