Thursday Night Football kicks off tonight at 8:25 p.m. ET as the Las Vegas Raiders host the Los Angeles Chargers at Allegiant Stadium. The Raiders are 3-point favorites, according to our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook, and the total is set at 34 points.
The biggest thing I’m watching for tonight is whether either team can score a touchdown. The Raiders failed to do so last week in a brutal 3-0 loss to the Vikings, and the Chargers’ offense is also in trouble after Justin Herbert fractured his finger on Sunday. He received season-ending surgery on Tuesday, which means tonight will be a battle between Los Angeles’ Easton Stick and Las Vegas’ Aiden O’Connell.
Raiders interim head coach Antonio Pierce was noncommital about the team’s quarterback earlier this week, leading some to believe Jimmy Garoppolo may draw the starting nod. ESPN’s Adam Schefter shut that notion down with a report that the rookie O’Connell is expected to start. It’ll be a good old-fashioned Thursday Night Football slop fest.
Here are our staff’s picks for tonight’s game.
