Jaguars fans: are you confident the team is headed in the right direction?
And which Tampa Bay Buccaneers player would you cherrypick?
- 30-year-old wide receiver Mike Evans (1x All-Pro, 4x Pro Bowl)
- 24-year-old offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs (2x All-Pro, 2x Pro Bowl)
- 25-year-old safety Antoine Winfield Jr. (1x Pro Bowl)
- 28-year-old defensive tackle Vita Vea (1x All-Pro)
Wirfs and Vea would be great additions to Jacksonville’s trenches, and Winfield Jr. is an enticing option given his connection with Mike Caldwell, but it’s tough not to go with an established receiver for Trevor Lawrence.
Three weeks ago, Mike Evans joined Jerry Rice as the only players in NFL history to post 10 consecutive seasons of 1,000-plus receiving yards. Evans also happens to have a perfect body type for this offense -- Jacksonville’s receiver room is filled with finesse but lacks power. Tampa Bay’s all-time leading wideout would be a great fit with Lawrence thanks to his bully-ball style and downfield abilities.
FWIW, Evans is set to become a free agent in March. Chances are he’ll re-sign with Tampa Bay, though it’s worth noting that “a source close to him said they believe he wants to continue playing for at least three more seasons,” per Jenna Laine of ESPN.
