Panthers-Jaguars Week 17 opening odds: Jacksonville big favorites

Oddsmakers like the Jaguars’ chances in Week 17 against the Panthers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have hit a rough stretch of the season, dropping their fourth loss in a row to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, where the Jaguars as a whole just looked like a team that is lost. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence struggled with turnovers, the offensive line struggled to block, the receivers struggled to run the right routes and the defense struggled to tackle.

It was all around bad.

Despite all that however, Vegas seems to think the Jaguars are going to rebound against the Carolina Panthers in a return to EverBank Stadium on Sunday. Despite the shoulder injury to Lawrence, the Jaguars opened as six-point favorites and the line has since moved to 6.5.

While many would think the Panthers, sitting at 2-13, would be a walkover... anyone watching the Jaguars the last six weeks would know better than to assume anything. The Panthers showed some spark last Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, rallying the tie the game late in the fourth quarter, so the Jaguars would be wise to not take them lightly... especially with how they’ve been playing.

As it stands, the Jaguars are six and a half-point favorites, according to DraftKings Sportsbook.
