The Jaguars have placed wide receiver Christian Kirk on injured reserve after he sustained a core muscle injury on the first play of the team’s 34-31 loss against the Cincinnati Bengals.

With recent reports confirming Kirk will undergo surgery, this would at minimum indicate that he is likely done for the Jaguars regular season. Placing him on IR would put him out a minimum of four weeks, however, recent reports have placed surgery recovery at six to eight weeks.

There is, however a possibility for him to return from the team’s reserve/injured list this season if the team makes it to the AFC Championship or Super Bowl.

Kirk originally signed with the Jaguars in 2022 on a four-year deal worth $72,000,000. The deal included $37 million guaranteed.

In an additional move, the team may be getting some cornerback help soon, as they have designated CB Christian Braswell to return from injured reserve.

Braswell's 21-day practice window to return began on Thursday.
