According to a report from Sports Illustrated's John Shipley the Jaguars left tackle Cam Robinson will be suspended at the start of the 2023 NFL season. Per the report:
"Robinson will be suspended by the NFL for an undisclosed amount of games for violating the league's performance-enhancing drug policy, per the source."
Robinson was previouly ruled out for final five games of the 2022-2023 season (including the Jaguars two-game playoff run) due to a right knee meniscus injury. Based on past performance-enhancing drug suspensions, we can expect him to be out at minimum an additional 4-6 games as a first offender to the league's PED policy.
"From a health standpoint, yes..", [Cam should be ready for training camp] - Trent Baalke at the pre-draft luncheon.... Now we know what he meant.
The Jaguars are very fortunate to have Walker Little on the roster, whose natural position is left tackle as an easy option to flip into that role during the suspension.
Now that the Cam Robinson suspension news has been publicly reported, offensive tackle may just become a position of even more importance in rounds one and two of tonight's NFL draft. Darnell Wright & Dawand Jones may have just rocketed up the Jaguars' draft boards. On the contrary, this news being made public just hours before the draft could also be a potential smokescreen to assist the Jags in securing their ideal draft target. Stay tuned...
