Your collection of Jacksonville Jaguars articles from around the web
Welcome to the Daily CatNip, your Jacksonville Jaguars news link round-up. As we enter our seemingly annual Jaguars stadium/downtown Jacksonville "Rendering Season" there has been significant media attention surrounding the varying potential options for the Jaguars future home field. Additionally, as the Jaguars' OTAs conclude, the ascension of Trevor Lawrence into the top 6 NFL QB grouping & the Jaguars becoming (dare I say) a media darling is a welcome change from years past.
Feel free to use this thread to discuss any of the below articles, recent team or player news, rumors, or share your own interesting Jaguar topic(s) in the comments! This is for all the Jags fans (like me) who simply can't get enough Jaguar football!
"After some struggles throughout his rookie season in 2021 with the Jaguars, the light went on at the end of his second season in the league last year under head coach Doug Pederson. Now, Lawrence looks to continue the upward trajectory with a sense of calm, rather than attempting to learn things on the fly."
"It is not an exaggeration to say Ridley was knocking on the door of becoming an elite NFL wide receiver. Over his second and third seasons, the former Alabama star turned into a consistent deep threat in the NFL, as 27.2% of his targets came on deep attempts, which ranked 10th among receivers. He parlayed that into the highest overall deep catch rate (62.4%) among the top 10."
"After a season-ending injury to Shaquill Griffin forced the Jaguars to shift their secondary around and move veteran cornerback Darious Williams from the slot to the outside, the Jaguars saw their pass defense see a significant uptick."
"Sounding off on an upgraded stadium, Jaguars fans have mixed reactions to the high-price plans. A taxpayer watchdog group is also keeping an eye on the massive investment. The Jaguars organization wants a 50% investment from the city of Jacksonville, promising it will benefit the surrounding area and the city."
"With high participation numbers in OTAs, much of the Jags’ 90-man roster was on hand to take part in paintball, which involved everyone from the stars of the team to even the general manager. Jaguars GM Trent Baalke was among those putting his tactical combat skills to the test as the Jaguars navigated a makeshift battlefield."
The thread is yours! As always, please ensure that all discourse keeps with the BCC/SBNation terms of service. You all know the drill #IWATJ #DTWD
