Sunday Night Football kicks off tonight at 8:20 p.m. ET as the Miami Dolphins host the Buffalo Bills at Hard Rock Stadium. The Bills are 3-point favorites, according to our friends at DraftKings Sportsbook, and the total is set at 49.5 points.
The biggest thing I’m watching for tonight is Tua Tagovailoa’s performance.
Josh Allen has played at an MVP level this season (he leads the NFL in total touchdowns) as Buffalo has fought through a storm of injuries, firings, and distracting stories. Meanwhile, Tagovailoa is pacing the league in passing yards and completion percentage, but anyone who watches the sport with a wise eye would tell you he doesn’t lift his team the same way as Allen.
If Tagovailoa is unable to lead Miami to a victory tonight, the Dolphins would obtain the AFC’s no. 6 seed -- meaning they’d have to travel to Kansas City to play the defending league MVP and Super Bowl champs in the Wild Card round.
If Tagovailoa is unable to lead Miami to a victory tonight, Mike McDaniel could have a Sean McVay-esque realization about the ceiling his current quarterback offers.
Here are our staff’s picks for tonight’s game.
