Blaine Gabbert went down awkwardly on his left shoulder against the Oakland Raiders on Sunday and laid on the ground in obvious pain. After playing another series where he didn't throw the football, the Jaguars opted to sit Gabbert to prevent further injury.
The Jaguars quarterback has a torn labrum in his left shoulder according to a report by Ed Werder of ESPN.
Jacksonville sent Gabbert's MRI to the renowned Dr. James Andrews on Monday evening for a second opinion on Gabbert's shoulder, but it sounds like there is a tear which could likely mean surgery on his left shoulder.
Gabbert's status for Sunday's game against the Green Bay Packers is still unknown and the plan was for him to try to practice on Wednesday, but if his labrum is torn one would assume it's highly unlikely that he will start or even be active for the game.
I guess it means it's Chad Henne time.
