Jaguars vs. Raiders final score: Jacksonville loses 26-23 in overtime

If there was any question why the Jaguars chose to stick with Blaine Gabbert through a 1-4 record it became obvious during the second half of their 26-23 overtime loss over the Raiders in Week 7. It's because Chad Henne is really bad.

With Maurice Jones-Drew out for almost the entire game with an ankle injury, Gabbert got the Jaguars out to a strong start, leading the Jaguars to a 17-3 lead. He was aided by the Raiders shooting themselves in the foot multiple times with turnovers, but Gabbert completed two-thirds of his passes for 110 yards before a shoulder injury suffered near the end of the first half ended his game and put Henne in control.

Control might be a nice way to put Henne's grasp on the quarterback spot. Completing just nine-of-20 passes for 73 yards, Henne walked in to multiple sacks and gave the Raiders the opportunity to come back. And come back they did, very slowly and poorly. Had the Jaguars showed any semblance of competency on offense, they could have held off the terrible come back by the Raiders, but they didn't and they couldn't.

The final nail in the coffin came when Cecil Shorts III fumbled in overtime and gave the Raiders the ball in Jaguars territory to set up a game-winning 40-yard field goal from Sebastian Janikowski.
